In 2005, independent recording artist Robah released the album, Sleeper Hit. Twenty years later, he returned to the project with Sleeper Hit ReduXX, a multi-album project in which he is re-releasing the 2005 version; re-recording the album; and making a compilation of demos and B-sides available. The Sleeper Hit ReduXX Box Set includes two vinyl albums, three CDs, a book about the project, and artwork.
“It’s a joke. The title ‘Sleeper Hit’, of course. The idea being that an audience would eventually find the record and celebrate it. I made the first version of this record in 2005, a novice getting started as a musician. Twenty years later, I’m still making music. I have a lot more skills. The old version is a watercolor; the 2025 version is an oil painting. They are different expressions of the same subject, from different points in my life. By including the demos and B-sides, I put these additional songs out in the world to encompass the project as a whole.”
